The Twomey winery was founded in 1999 by the Duncan family, who are also known for Silver Oak Cellars. The name "Twomey" comes from the maiden name of Velma Marie Twomey Duncan, mother of Ray Duncan.
The winery specializes in the production of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, with vineyards located in both California and Oregon. Twomey's vineyards include Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard, West Pin Vineyard, Monument Tree Vineyard, and Prince Hill Vineyard. The winery uses traditional winemaking methods, such as "soutirage traditionnel," a technique of transferring wine from barrel to barrel by gravity, primarily applied to Merlot. At the same time, it implements sustainability practices in both the vineyards and its facilities.

Among the most popular varieties of white wine in the world, California's Sauvignon Blanc offers impressively different expressions compared to Sancerre or New Zealand. The hallmark of Twomey Sauvignon Blanc is its intense tropical fruits supported by a fresh, mineral character. Bright in appearance, with a light yellow color. Its aromatic profile is completed with notes of chamomile, peach, and lemon peel. Full on the palate, with a creamy, smooth texture, and nice acidity, which gives the wine its vibrant character and a long lovely finish.
