Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and has gained a reputation for producing exceptional wines from the Napa Valley region, as well as from other renowned areas of California, such as Sonoma County, Sierra Foothills, and Santa Lucia Highlands.
The winery's history began in 1972 when Koerner and Joan Rombauer moved to Napa Valley in search of a rural community. In 1980, they established their winery, and in 1984, they released their first wines. Since then, the winery has significantly expanded, acquiring vineyards in various regions of California while continuing to produce high-quality wines that reflect their love for wine.
The cultivation is done with absolute respect and attention to the land, as they believe that careful vineyard management is crucial for producing wines of higher quality and character. Each section of the vineyard is managed with meticulous attention to detail, incorporating technologies such as NDVI aerial photography (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), as well as traditional on-site monitoring. This approach to micro-farming guides all the design and practices of the vineyard.

The iconic Chardonnay of California! 1990 was the year that the Rombauer winery produced the first Chardonnay from the Carneros region, where San Pablo Bay meets the southern tip of the Napa and Sonoma valleys. The cool climate and unique soils of this area provide ideal conditions for this distinctive Carneros Chardonnay. The grapes are gently pressed while the fruit is still cool. The juice is pumped into a tank to settle cold overnight before being transferred to barrels for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The lees are stirred every 7-10 days to give the wine rich flavors and a creamy texture. Aromas of ripe peach and melon emerge on the nose, along with citrus notes. These continue on the palate, where they meet flavors of creamy vanilla and buttery hints, culminating in a long and lingering finish. Its characteristic acidity is present in every sip.
